National Graves Association hosted at Dublin's Mansion House.
The National Graves Association were invited to a civic reception on 19th June 2010 in the Mansion House by the Mayor of Dublin, Emer Costello and her husband, Joe Costollo T.D.
Eighteen members and associate-members were treated to a history of the building along with a guided tour by the Mayor. All present agreed that it was a very informative and interesting visit.
Mr. and Mrs. Costello later presented the National Graves Association with a framed
certificate to mark the occasion. Donnacha Ó Mathúna, on behalf of the N.G.A., then presented the couple with a bronze statuette depicting the death of Cú Chulainn.
The most significant historical event to take place at the Mansion house was, of course, on ambitions outlined that day in the 'Democratic Programme' are, unfortunately, still to 21st January 1919 when An Chéad Dáil Éireann assembled for the first time. Alas, the inspirational be realised.
